Portable 1.3.0rc2 x64 - slowness & unresponsiveness

Post by john3voltas »

Good evening.
I just tested the portable 1.3.0rc2 x64 package.
I must say that I was surprised by the slowness and unresponsiveness of the package.
I just opened MMEX and it immediately took ages to open the startup dialog. Then I pressed the create new database and I literally had time to go out for a coffee before it giving me back the control. I restarted my PC and did everything again but the results were identical.
Then I erased the package, redownloaded from sourceforge and tried again but results were identical.
Then I went back to stable portable 1.2.7 x64 and it's working fine.
Is there something wrong with 1.3.0? I mean, it came out of beta into RC so it should already be quite stable, right?
Cheers

Sorry. In fact it's not in best stage yet.
But we have no betatesters.

Is that so?
And what is needed in order to become a beta tester?
And what does a beta tester need to do?

Betatesters should use daily build and report bugs.
I don't remember where daily build is available will provide later.

I am willing to use it. I mean, as long as there is a portable version...:(
You see, this is my boss's computer and he doesn't let me install anything on it. So everything I use on my own has to be portable.

Instructions on where and how to download the updated builds can be found in GitHub Wiki

The .zip file contains the full package

The .exe file is the mmex executable only and has no support files. This file is put directly in the moneymanagerex/bin folder and run directly.
This way the user can easily switch between versions without having to set up the whole package again.
