I had the same problem, but was eventually successful in Mint 18 by opening ‘repositories’ in Synaptic. Open 'settings', then ‘additional repositories'. Open ‘add new repository. Copy this web site - https://launchpad.net/~dwrj87/+archive/ubuntu/mmex-test
, and paste into the box for the
added repository, and click on OK. Then run the following two commands in a terminal.
sudo apt-get install python-software-properties sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install mmex
Later:- Tried the same unsuccessfully in Makulu Linux. So copied the mmex entry from /etc/apt/sources.list.d in Mint, and pasted into the same file in Makulu. Synaptic then found mmex, but wouldn't install because of missing dependencies (libwxbase3.0-0v5 & libwxgtk-webview3.0-0v5). After finding and installing them, I was finally successful in installing MMEX in Makulu. Now I'm a happy chappy.
