THANK YOU Lisheng.

I've installed it on my Samsung S22 Ultra phone and so far no problems. It was able to open the database from my previous MMX Android versioin (which I uninstalled so that I could install this beta). So far it seems like all my transactions have been preserved.

So, it's a good start. THANK YOU again for building the app.

Which version of MMX Desktop is that, 1.6 or 1.7 (beta)?

I installed on my Lenovo Android tablet and moved my Windows desktop files into Onedrive. Opened them successfully on the Android version but after that, the Windows version refused to open them saying it need to be upgraded to the latest version. I'd already got Windows version 1.6.4 installed. I deinstalled it and reinstalled but it still wouldn't open the database - gave me the same message telling me to upgrade it.

I would like to point out that the Android version is a beta version that does not guarantee error-free operation.

It is essential that you make backup copies in order to revert to a functional version if necessary.

A beta version should also never be used in a productive environment.

If you do not have a backup copy, you can try downloading and installing the desktop MMEX version 1.7.0 beta 1.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

The major reason is due schema v19 is for desktop v1.7.x, and the team is preparing it.

Can you explain this change? What was removed?

And what must we test?

I can confirm that this crash is still happening on my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra phone (SM-S908E/DS OneUI 5.1 and Android 13) with MMX Android app version 2023.11.17 (998). MMX shuts down when I tap the Android back button.

I just saw Version 2023.11.20 (999). I've installed it and the problem is fixed! MMX Android does not shut down anymore when I tap the Android back button.

Congratulations and thank you for the fix.

Thank you - it's great to see an Android version working again.

Unfortunately, I have a problem with it - it is showing a deleted transaction. A transfer transaction between 2 of my accounts on 5 Nov was deleted in the Windows app. The Windows app does not show it; the Android one does, in both accounts. This is reflected in the balance for both accounts. "DB Browser for SQLite" on Windows shows the transaction in the CHECKINGACCOUNT_V1 table, where it has a timestamp value in the DELETEDTIME field.

Also, not a bug but I'd like it to have a "close" function.

Hello,
I am a German user of mmex and have tested the Android version.
I use the app on a Moto G42 with Android 12 the database version is version v.18.
At the moment I have copied my database from the PC to the smartphone without synchronization.
How can I integrate the database into the Android version via Onedrive?

That has fixed the deleted transaction problem, but sadly the Income vs Expenses calculation seems to have been affected - at the bottom of the Home screen it's just showing zeros, and the option under Reports shows nothing at all.

Did you install oneDrive in your phone? I am not sure whether the open database would explore from both local phone storage and oneDrive storage directly.
Note as the synchronization is one file level today, a concrete sync could only be applied in single direction. Otherwise, it will show as conflicts or lost data

I have a connection to onedrive via a file explorer and it shows up as a drive. I cannot establish a connection to the drive in the app.
When I click on the saved MMEX database in the drive, the app is not displayed among the possible apps to use.
Is a synchronization to the desktop database planned as part of the development of the app?

would you use Android MMEX's "Open Database" to choose the saved MMEX in the drive?

this is wired and we expect both local storage and cloud storage. just polished it a little bit by applying extra permission

Code: Select all

<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" />

please check out latest apk via https://github.com/moneymanagerex/andro ... 11.27.1001

Hi Lisheng

That was very good news, now I can access the database on my desktop PC both at home and on the go on my smartphone.

On Android I have installed the "CIFS Documents Provider" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... r&hl=en_US) and can thus access internal shares via the SMB interface.
I use VPN for external access.

Attention: the MMEX database is not multiuser capable, please make sure that only one MMEX program is active.

I will test with a duplicate of my accounting system in the near future to see if there are no problems.

agree with the attention: sync via cloud storage in not perfect, and it only supports single direction and file level sync each time. multi-users would cause conflicts or data loss.
