How to Buy the Best Floor Mop for Vinyl? — Detailed Buying Guide (2022)

A good mop is an unskippable cleaning tool for anyone with sensitive floorings like vinyl. Other than keeping the floor clean, it’s also going to be able to protect the floor from water damages or dulling. But with there being so many different types of mops on the market, it can be difficult for some people to find a good mop to buy.

Today, we got here for you A Comprehensive Guide to Getting the Best Mop for Vinyl plank Floors. This guide is all you would need to find and buy a good vinyl floor mop for your home!

Different Types of Floor Mops
  • String Mops
String mops are a “classic” type of mop that can be easily recognized by the stringy mopping head that it has. The strings are typically made from soft, highly absorbent cotton. Because of their simple design, string mops tend to be very affordable.

Their absorbent characteristic also makes them a great type of mop for cleaning vinyl floors. Remember, moisture is the enemy of all vinyl floors. By soaking up excess moisture, the mop will be able to prevent the floor from sustaining water damages.

However, because they are so absorbent, string mops have a tendency to take a long time to dry. Additionally, they also need you to maintain them regularly. If not, the mopping head will develop mildew.

  • Strip Mops
Strip mops have a design that’s very similar to string mops. But instead of having cotton strings, the cleaning head is made from fibrous strips. The two types have about the same cleaning power and affordability. However, strip mops generally dry faster and are less prone to mildew, which naturally makes it a superior choice to string mops.
  • Flat Mops
Flat mops are the most popular type of mop in the vinyl floor cleaning market by far. Like its name suggests, it has a flat mopping head where a mopping pad (usually made from microfiber) is attached. These mops stand out due to their relatively simple design and their high affordability.

Most flat mops come with washable and reusable mopping pads. When the pad gets dirty, just remove it, put it into the washer, and reuse it the next day after it’s dried out. It’s a lot more economic.

  • Spray Mops
A mop usually comes with a water bucket. But not with a spray mop … this one combines the mop and the water bucket into a single package.

Inside of a spray mop is a small water tank. You can fill the tank with whatever you want: water or detergent. Then, when you need to add it onto the floor, use the trigger on the handle to activate the sprayer located near the cleaning head. The sprayer will shoot out the liquid and moisturize the floor for you.

These mops tend to be very lightweight and compact, making them highly ideal for daily cleaning.

An example of a single line would help us understand what is not working and what parameters to choose for import.

@michealspencer

I use Nationwide and successfully import transactions into MMEX.

Attached is a step by step guide I have created, which should help you convert the dates in the Nationwide CSV file into a format that MMEX can handle.

In future, it is hoped that MMEX will directly support the date format Nationwide and some other banks use. I will create an Enhancement request in github for this.

In case @michealspencer is still reading this thread...

@Nikolay has just added the ability to handle dates in 'DD Mon YYYY' format to the 1.6.0 Alpha.1 development build available via github, so that CSV files from UK Nationwide can be directly imported by MMEX.

You can either use this Alpha build (but be aware that some things may be broken) or follow the instructions I provided until this capability appears in the next official release.
