Can I use Money Manager MMEX9.9.0 with Dropbox? for saving files for use with another lap top.
I do not understand how to save my data files to a pen drive. If I do then the pen drive has to be available each time before one can reload the data

You can use or drop box or pen drive but not both together.

Dropbox is a system to synchronize data between several computers.

Thank you - I am using dropbox to sync another laptop - but when I try to open MMex and the database the reply comes back 'unexpected parameter' and proceeds no further. What next please?? should I have saved my changes to another database?

Unfortunately you can't use one db at the same time from two PC.
Practically you can but data will be lost when Dropbox will attempts to provide synchronization.

I don't understand. Surely the point of dropbox/cloud is to be able to use mmex on another laptop when required, thus if only one user of mmex is on line at the time and the database has already been synched to dropbox. Do I need a separate server??

I am sorry but your reply is of no help at all. Do I now need an alternative server or is there some way I can use dropbox to open the database on another laptop if the master one is not being used? Saving the database to another pen drive also does not seem to work.

I don't understand your question.
What does you mean "server"?
How to you trying to use pen and Dropbox?
-------------------------------------------------------
How I used Dropbox.
Dropbox service is running on several PC with the same account.
mmex installed on all of my PC's.
.mmb file placed to Dropbox folder.
If some changes provided on one PC then ( later after synchronization) that changes available on another PC.

But if two users will working with one file at the same time some data may be lost!
For example I have this file in Dropbox folder:
my_budget(ANV-PC-Piter's conflicted copy 2013-02-06).mmb
That mean file was locked by another user (my wife) when I trying to update it.

THank you for the very quick response - I understand what you say, but surely the point of Dropbox (or any cloud service) is for a user to access MMEX from any laptop any where in the world with the latest data from the last user. What would happen if I used the TONIDO cloud service??
Mmex is excellent Financial software and should be much more popular please keep updating (when is 9.9.2) becoming available?
Regards
Mike
