Not automatically assigning Category to Payee

Hi
Please help.
After importing a .Qif, MMEX is not assigning a category to the payee.
I have previous transactions where I have set the category for the payee, I have also set the default category for the payee under Tools> Organize Payees...
Also, I cannot mass edit? I can filter the Payees, but there is no way to mass assign a category.
Please help. With these simple changes I would be happy to pay for this program!
