Strange character before currency sybol

Hi, I've just installed the package and after setting up my accounts and recurring transactions I'm pretty impressed. The one little niggle I
have is that everywhere in the package their is an accented character
immediately before the currency symbol when displaying currency
ammounts. My currency is UK Pound and instead of seeing a display like
£1000.00 I see £1000.00. See image attached.
Is this a bug or some kind of control character that can be switched off somewhere ?
