Hi,
I'm brand new to MMEX and am trying to figure out how to export a report to a CSV file after I have run it. I can print to pdf but I need the report in CSV so that I an separate things out for my accountant.

Is there a way to save a report to a CSV file?

If so, would someone please show me how?

Thank you so much.

Allen

1. In MMEX, select all the text of the report you want to export (column headings and number rows).

2. CTRL+C to copy to clipboard

3. In Excel (or your preferred spreadsheet app), CTRL+V to paste.

4. It should be formatted OK but, if not, make any required adjustments.

5. 'Save As' and set the 'Save as type' to CSV.

This is a most unusual way to export to csv but ok, I'll use it

That you Martin 😊 😊

UPDATE:

Got it. It works just as you said. Strange, however, to have to print reports this way. Very strange way for such a mature application.

The file format CSV stands for Comma-separated values and describes the structure of a text file for storing or exchanging simply structured data.
From my point of view, CSV is certainly not intended for storing reports.
MMEX offers .CSV for exporting the stored data.

aragorn7773, out of curiosity, what are you using the CSV files for?

Since we cannot sort the reports by more than 1 column, I was going to export the report to CSV and start separating my reports by Month and by Type so that I could do totals for the Months and Grand Totals for the Year.

Is there a way to do Transaction Summary Reports that summarize each month's Revenues and Expenses and that give a Yearly Summation of Revenues and Expenses?

That ought to be doable in MMEX via the General Report Manager. Hopefully someone will be along to point you to an example report that you can import (and modify if required).

You can also make such reports with Excel.
for example, retrieve all bookings in Excel and evaluate them with Power Pivot.
Here is an example of an account balance:

Thx Renato,

I have found a couple of reports in MMEX that look like what I need.

Categories Summary

that one helps me the most as along as I have setup my categories well.
