Downloading database from dropbox

I am aware this is not a new subject but I am unable to make any sense of the answers posted regarding the use of dropbox. I have had to revert to version 2018.11.15.987 since any version after that renders the program useless and unable to use dropbox.
I have used MMEX for 6 years and this present situation is dire. Can anyone explain is this the end of the line for dropbox or is it just a temporary glitch.
