Version 1.5.7 - Failed to copy (Error 5: Access is denied)

Post by StevenR »

I just updated to version 1.5.7-win64. Now every time I exit, I receive an error popup:

Failed to copy the file 'XXXXXXXXXX\Documents\Finances\MMES_data\XXXXXX accts 2021.mmb' to 'XXXXXXXXXX\Documents\Finances\MMES_data\XXXXXX accts 2021_update_2021-09-25.bak' (Error 5: Access is denied)

The error does not occur when I run the program as administrator.

As an aside, the error message has the standard Windows feature/bug that the text of the error message cannot be copied. I know this is a windows problem not a problem with the code, but it is bothersome.

Thanks,

Steven

I would suggest installing 1.5.7 again with the option to uninstall the old version.

FYI Windows often lets you copy the whole error dialog using Ctrl+C. It's just not obvious that it copied because it doesn't always let you select anything.

Next time use Ctrl+C on an error dialog (without selecting anything) and see what happens when you paste.
