Crash - Bug Report

Post by HisNibbs »

Hi, new user, been importing my data and allocating to categories. So far All I have done is create an account, import CSV of bank transactions and now want to set up a budget.

I have gone to the "Create new budget" in the help section and followed the guidelines. This is where I hit an issue.

I set up a budget, by right clicking the budgeting node.
Add the year and it shows in the node under "Budget Set Up"

I then click the Budget year I just created and almost immediately the App crashes. Have tried setting up/deleting and redoing it but whatever I do the app crashes without warning.

I am running a week old install of Win 7, so it is pretty clean/new and the Problem Details window says this:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH

Any idea why the app crashes?

The whole reason I want to use a money manager is to set budgets, and if I cannot do that then I will have to look for an alternative. Thank you for looking at my issue.

I original posted this request on the 30th Oct 2018
It was approved on 2nd December 2018 and went 'live'

Unfortunately I have since given up and made alternative purchase of Moneydance. They answered my pre-sale questions directly and helpfully before I invested. I know you are a freeware, and I accept group sourced forum support is part of the deal, but 33 days from posting to approval for a post is just a little on the slow side,

The point of me even posting this reply is to, hopefully help you understand what users want from support/forums etc. and I hope you can use to inform your internal processes. I sincerely wish you all the best and thank you for eventually publishing my support request but it is now moot as I am using another package.

Many thanks and Happy Christmas!

I have the same problem reported here. I am running the 64 bit version of Windows 10 . I set up the budget year and month but whenever I click on either of them the Money Manager EX application crashes. I looked in the Event Viewer and found the below. Then I starting searching the support forum for MMEX and found this post.

Report Id: 7c937215-6114-4b17-b18a-bea0a7c88a66

Is a fix for this problem in development ???
