MMEX will not open database-database possibly already open

MMEX will not open the database last used and displays a white blank screen only. Is it possible that the database was flagged open and remained open after abnormal close at previous use. If so how do you resolve this problem. Is there a temp file that is normally removed when closing the app normally?
