Previous 1.3.3 version crashes and I have to force quit. 

When i try to download latest stable release for mac, 1.4.0 gets downloaded and open opening, it says this cannot work with the current OS. Please contact developer. 

Anyone else having the same issue?

i do, same problem. I'll wait for an update that fix that bug otherwise I'll have to change program

The 1.4 alpha builds had some issues for Mac - those have been resolved and the next release after 1.4alpha3 should be ok. A new 1.3.3 build has been posted if you want to try it - it is built on wxWidgets 3.0.2 instead of 3.1 which was causing some issues.
