one-off payees

I was trying out MMEX recently, and right at the start it looks like it won't allow you to do a one-off payee, but insists you have to save it before it can be used. Not that the program would LET me savea payee (different issue).

Before I go any further with MMEX, I wanted to know if this was an expected behavior, that you can't do one-off payees.

Now, this could just be a quirk in v0.9.9.0, but unfortunately that's the only version I could find that worked under Fedora 34.
  • the repo-add script for RPM packages fails because it's looking for obsolete packages, etc,
  • the code won't compile
  • the 1.5.4-beta and 1.6.0-alpha Fedora30 builds fail with "mmex: symbol lookup error: mmex: undefined symbol: _ZNSt7__cxx1112basic_stringIwSt11char_traitsIwESaIwEEC1EPKwRKS3_, version WXU_3.0"
We're probably dealing with mismatched or outright missing packages, but the RPMs (installed with DNF, which should check dependencies) didn't ask for other packages, and there's no documentation for newer Fedora installs.

The current versions of the appropriate dependencies should be installed (likely many more packages listed here than needed for MMEX):

All payees are saved. I can't speak to how to build on Fedora.

So no way to NOT have it save payees?

Payees are always saved. There is an existing feature request to add the ability to hide these payees from the selection list.
