MMEX icon not visible

I am a new Linux user. I have MMEX 1.3.3 running on Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon. I loaded the MMEX package from the Snap Store and opened an existing MMEX database from my Windows 7.0 computer. I had no problem doing this, and MMEX appears to be working. However the MMEX icon is not visible in the list of Applications or on the panel when MMEX is open and in use. Only text (Money Manager Ex) appears in the list of Applications, and only a square with no icon and no text appears in the panel when MMEX is open. I know I can change the Panel Preferences to show the text for all open applications, but I would prefer to see icons and not text in the panel. I'm not sure if I have neglected to do something, if I made some mistake, or if this is a problem which can be corrected. I would appreciate any help in getting the icon to appear.
Thanks

I had the same problem with all Ubuntu -based distros when I install MMEX thru the Snap store. The solution is to create your own icon.
Here are the steps:

1. Get an icon image of MMEX from the web and save it. I got three.
2. Run alacarte or "main menu". If you do not have it then do from terminal "sudo apt install alacarte". Please note that some distros use libremenu instead of alacarte.
3. Find the MMEX in your main menu
4. Click on properties for the MMEX item
5. Click on the blank image section- it will be on the left side
6. Select 'files" and find your saved MMEX images
7. Save changes in alacarte

Your saved items should now be in the menu with your iimage

Don,
Your instructions were very clear and worked perfectly.
The MMEX icon is now visible everywhere it should be.
I'm glad to know about alacate - "Main Menu."
Thanks very much,

Balladeer
