Linux Mint 20

Post by lustedd »

I wish to install MMEX to Linux Mint 20 “Ulyana”. Is there a build/DEB file available please? I can't find a file here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/moneymanagerex/

There are 7 different DEBs shown on this site:
mmex_1.3.5-1.tessa_amd64.deb
mmex_1.3.5-1.xenial_amd64.deb
mmex_1.3.5-1.bionic_amd64.deb
mmex_1.3.5-1.eoan_amd64.deb
mmex_1.3.5-1.jessie_amd64.deb
mmex_1.3.5-1.sylvia_amd64.deb
mmex_1.3.5-1.tara_amd64.deb

There is not one for Linux Mint 20 "Ulyana" whixh is based on based on Ubuntu 20.04 "Focal Fossa. Which DEB should be used or does it not matter (I thought it did)?

I have just moved from Windows 10 and I want to ensure the correct version of MMEX is installed.

I thought the fact that there are 7 different DEBs shown on the Soundforge site, indicated that MMEX was now supported for Linux Mint/Ubuntu.
I guess this is not the case?
Could someone explain which version I should be using for Linux Mint 20 "Ulyana" which is based on based on Ubuntu 20.04 "Focal Fossa.

If there is no version to use/or being planned please could someone advise me?
As explained I have just moved to Linux Mint from Windows 10 (currently using Linux Mint 19.3) and would like to continue using MMEX.

If this will not be possible please could I be advised. I will then have to review whether I can continue using MMEX. This is a shame as I have found it is one of the best finance packages I have used. If it is not going to be updated for Linux Mint I'll have to find something else.

I have been using MMEX for many years, but I would never make such demands on a product that I get for free. Especially if I change to another operating system, I would check if the software I have used so far works on this system.
By the way: As they say, the sound makes the music. ;)

Personally I find MMEX to be one of the best freeware products in terms of accounting for dummies, that's why I'm a volunteer here in the forum.
