Since v 1.3.3, the backup is the working file with each backup date as part of the name. Maybe it's a setting I have missed, but the file names are getting rather long. How do I fix it?

There are two database backup options. First choice is create a new backup when MMEX starts. Second choice is backup database on exit. I have selected the backup database on exit and have not had the issue you have described.

Seems you every time open DB by clicking on newest file.
Please just run the app and choose Open last opened DB button.
