Cannot open money manager database anymore

Hello everyone,

Since the update to Money Manager EX - Version : 1.3.3 (DB v.7) I'm not able to open my file where I manage my daily expenses.

Whenever I try to open this database a pop-up is showing :
At opening of the database
- Incorrect password
or
- tentative to open a file which is not database

I've never set a password to this protect this file. This is the same file that I used to edit on Money Manager for so long. It became very annoying.
Note : My OS is windows 10 64bits. I tried to open it using another windows10 laptop and on my android smartphone, same issue.

Could someone help solving this issue ? Or at least help me extracting the content of the attached .mmb file so that I can restart from scratch ?

Note : this is the same issue as Phototaker and ianwnicholson in another but somehow I couldn't post anything that's why I have created a new one.

Thanks Renato...apologies if i missed something here but the error i receive is when i try to open the database file....it shows me 'incorrect password given for an encrypted file'

please no double posts

If a database is corrupted or you can't remember the password, the only thing that helps is a backup.

If you don't have a backup of your data and you don't use the automatic backup function of MMEX, then probably nobody can help you.

Sorry about the double post...the file db that is attached is the automatic backup that isn't opening...also whenever I've used the desktop Mme I've never been asked for a password...would you know is this the same as the windows login password or something ?

Normally a backup would have the following name: "etsa money_3.mmb_update_YYYY-MM-DD.mmb"
and not "etsa money_3.mmb"

thanks for the reply... would you know which path the backup file saves by default so i can check once there as a last resort..Just confirmed and my backup was set on so unsure why i dont have the _update file then

install https://www.voidtools.com/ and search with ".mmb"

How should I understand this, from my point of view there should not only be a .mmb file but also such: "etsa money_3.mmb_update_YYYY-MM-DD.mmb"

what's the name of the used viewer

I have looked at the etsa money_3.mmb with a special editor and doubt if this is a real SQLite database.

To clarify my backed up file was deleted from my computer in error and i had it restored through a test version software (maybe thats why the incorrect password issue)
