Error connecting to the Webapp

Hello,
I installed the MMEX Webapp on a free web hosting today, since I accidentally upgraded to latest version of the Desktop App without realizing that I was going to lose compatibility with the beloved Android app.

The Webapp is up and running and I could see settings page and all the menu.
But when starting the MMEX Desktop after putting the host and GUID, I get an error when connecting to the Webapp. (see screenshot attached)

Do you have any advice?

For the benefit of others on this forum, the first part of the error message translates to:
Unable to connect to the WebApp:
Check the imports and/or the internet connection.


To clarify,
  • Is everything working when you visit the webapp in your browser (using the same computer)?
  • Do you have at least one or two transactions entered in the webapp?
  • Is your computer firewall blocking internet access specifically for Money Manager Ex? Do you get update notifications in Money Manager Ex?
  • What version of Money Manager Ex are you using?
  • What operating system and version are you using (e.g. Windows 11, etc.)

Thanks dbolton for your reply.
I figured out that the free hosting I was using (Infinity free) was blocking calls not originating from a web browser. I switched to another free hosting and everything is working fine!
