Downloading for beginners

Post by Ian39 »

Hi

First time on the forum. I’ve been using MMEX for around 3 years but have never downloaded an upgraded version. I’m not very good with tech and tend to take the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” approach.

However, for some reason I decided to go for it today and needless to say it hasn’t worked. When I try and open my database I’m getting a message saying the upgrade to Version 15 has failed and telling me to restore the auto-created back up of my previous version.

Can anyone tell me how I do that please?

Which MMEX version did you use before the upgrade?

Sorry, not sure. I’ve found something that says I last modified on 29 April (which is probably about right) and that mentions version 1.8.0. Does that sound right?

That was not the information I was looking for.
It would be useful for further clarification to know with which MMEX version it still worked.
A list of existing .mmb files would also be useful.
If you like, you can send the last three .MMB files to mmex-reg@bluewin.ch and I will try to solve your problem.
The confidentiality of the data is guaranteed.

Thank you for sending the file list.
However, this list is not sorted by date and does not contain all files.
I would enter .mmb at the top right under "search" and then sort by date.

a) Am I right in assuming that you are using a MAC?
b) where and which version of MMEX did you download and install.

Many thanks for the new list of files
However, I am missing the file 09/11/22.mmb
Are you sure that this was the last file used?
I ask again: which MMEX version did you use before?

Unfortunately I don’t know what version I was previously using. I thought that was the last file used because it was updated in April 24.

Thank you for trying but I am happy to throw in the towel on this.
