Incorrect date format in CSV files import v1.5.12

Post by Ianola »

I have just installed version 1.5.12 64-bit. When I enter the CSV files import, the date format seems to default to MM/DD/YYYY. I can then change the format to what I need, DD/MM/YYYY, do a Save Template and then exit the page via the Cancel button. When I re-enter CSV files import, the date format has changed back to MM/DD/YYYY as though the previous Save Template did not work.

The end result of importing with the incorrect date format is that the import does work as expected.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug in 1.5.12?

I have been able to reproduce this and will write a step by step bug report on github for it to be investigated and fixed.

As a work around, when the wrong date format is displayed could you try clicking on a different template number [0 - 9] then click back to the template that you have saved. Could you confirm whether this causes the correct DD/MM/YYYY format to now be displayed please?

Also, could you say what date format you have set in Tools | Options | General | Date Format please?

Apologies Martin for not replying sooner.

I have re-opened MMEX today and then Import CSV files and found that the correct date format for template 0 DD/MM/YYYY is now being displayed. This definitely was not the case last time. Template 0 is the only template that I am using.

The date format in Tools is and always has been DD/MM/YYYY.

If I change the Date format to any other format e.g. YYYYMMDD, save template 0, exit the page via the cancel button, re-enter Import CSV files, the date format displayed is DD/MM/YYYY, not the other format that I had just saved. This indicates to me that the Template 0 was not saved when I previously saved it with the different format.

Having said that, if I change the Date format to say YYYYMMDD, save it to template 9, then press on template 0 the Date format stays at YYYYMMDD and does not revert to DD/MM/YYYY as was displayed when I first entered Import CSV files. If I now exit the page via the cancel button, re-enter Import CSV files, the Date format displayed is DD/MM/YYYY. This may be a side issue.

Hope this helps.

Yes, that's what I found.

I will write it up as a proper bug report.

Hello. You can take the following steps:
Open your file in Microsoft Excelfive nights at freddy's
Right-click the column containing dates.
Select "Format cells".
Click "Date" under Number >> Category.
Ensure the Location (Language) is set to be United Kingdom (English).
Select formatting that shows the date in the dd/mm/yyyy format.
