I suspect you may have a pre-v1.5.x build. Prior to this we looked up latest versions via the www.moneymanager.ex.org, but now use GitHub. The site has been updated and no longer includes the legacy version check code. I would suggest updating (if you can).

Today (18 June 2022), I installed a new instance of mmex on Ubuntu 22.04 from the Ubuntu Software store as a snap and then connected to a copy of my data from the .deb version 1.5.1 on my ubuntu 20.04 instance (leaving that instance and data untouched) and have also got the message

I have tried - in terminal - "snap refresh mmex" which reported "snap "mmex" has no updates available"

How can this issue be fixed?

The snap version is 1.3.3 (DB v.7)

This bug has already been encountered before.

I believe that information about new releases or XML with news does not fit into the buffer.

The problem is somewhere in the thousand hundredth lines of the util.cpp

I'm aware that the bug has been posted before but in those posts it suggested that it had been fixed.
My post was to point out that a new instance on ubuntu 22.04 using the Jammy download still contains this bug.
Is there a fix and what is it.
Thanks for your reply.

There is no solution. And this error has not been reported since a long time ago. This is probably a problem with a specific application build.

We are all using version 1.5.14 and higher.
