Editing Transactions Inline

Would it be possible, certainly desirable, to be able to edit a transaction directly from the register instead of having to double-click and use the pop-up window?
For example you have spelt a word wrong, say 'mith' instead of 'Smith' and clicking on the errant cell of the 'Payee' column makes it active and you can add the missing 'S'.
