Re: Download link problem
See my comment to stef in the message telling us about the new version - it's installing a portable version to a folder with a different name so, if you are trying to access the latest version from an old link, you are opening your pre-existing version and not the latest version. A side-effect of this is that the new version does not delete the old version which can be a good thing or not. If nothing else, your old version's *.db3 file will not be overwritten ...71MGB wrote:Link on the web site to download Money Manager EX Desktop 1.4.0-alpha1 portable produces a file for v1.3

Re: Download link problem
Afraid I don't quite understand that response, sounds a bit like we could be on different subjects.
I got an email saying an update was available on source forge but it was only for the installer version so went to the moneymanager web site and clicked on a link to download a win x64 portable version of 1.4.0-alpha1 but the file I get has 1.3 in the name, I did try using it but it says I need a later version as it can't open my database file.

Re: Download link problem
Thanks for the link, unfortunately I just got "The application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b)" when I tried to run it, 'run as admin' gives same result.

Re: Download link problem
I have downloaded the portable 64 bit version and that works on this Windows 10 16232 x64 without problems.

Re: Download link problem
Win 10 x64.
I have the same problem as 71MGB.
I downloaded 1.4.0-alpha1 from https://sourceforge.net/projects/moneym ... 0-alpha.1/
The installer loads mmex.exe (dated 30.05.2017) into a different folder (presumably becos it is alpha version).
Running mmex.exe from that location gives error "The application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b)"
The portable 64 bit version gives the same error.
The Portable 32 bit version does work OK though.

And the desktop 32 bit version too.
