Please help me with this! (Report/Feature)

Hi Guys,
I have 0 experience with SQL/coding languages etc. but trying to learn.
I want to create a report which will list the total balance from each payee for a category, rather than doing transaction filter, which shows lots of lines for each payee without telling me what the balance is for a particular payee. This is all for one category?
This:
"ACCOUNT" : "GBP"
"SIMILAR_YN" : false
"CATEGORY" : "Borrow"
Only gives be a list of all the transactions (both deposits and withdrawals) under the borrow category. All I want is the report to display the balance for each payee in the borrow category.
Is there a feature that can do this? If not, can someone point me in the right direction to create a report to do this?
