Recurring Transactions

Post by Andy »

Hi

I've just installed this software and am trying to get the recurring transactions to work the way I want them to.  I've read several posts on how they work but still can't get it to work the way I want it to, though I am sure it can do what I want it to.

I get my payslip on the 21st of each month and my salary goes into my bank account on the 27th.  I then have numerous regular payments and receipts over the course of the month.

What I am trying to do is set it so the that on the 21st of the month all recurring transactions appear in the relevant accounts dated for actual date the money will enter / leave the account ranging from 27th of this month to 9th of the coming month.  This way as soon as I get my payslip I can see all transactions for the coming month and see how much I have left over.

Is this possible?  If so, what should I be entering as the due date?  What should I be entering as the payment date?  and what should I set the autoexecute options to?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Andy

Hi Andy,

You seem to be trying to do what I have been doing for years. However, if you've just installed MMEX you have missed the boat because with the latest update (1.2.1) the dates transactions are entered into the listings rvert to the current date and not the future date as they used to do. See the thread: here.

Thanks for the replies.  I've created a second database and have been doing a bit of testing.  I think I've worked out the best settings and process for what I need - basically I'm leaving them all as manual and right clicking each one to enter it as a future transaction when I'm ready to work out my budget for the month.  May not be the most efficient method but its the one i'm most confident of.
