Hi, I have just downloaded this Money Manager and have started to process some entries along with getting to know the functions. So far most has performed as expected except encryption.
I started a new database (first) *.mmb and made a few entries. I then followed the instructions to encrypt the database to *.emb. The process seemed successful including the adding of a password. I cleared recent files and then exit the program.
Upon re-entering the program I have found that BOTH the encrypted (.emb) database AND the original database (.mmb) can be accessed from the front entry page.
If you exit from *.emb file and then re-access the program, the following is presented:
Clicking: Open Last opened Database, take you to the requirement for a password, which is correct.
However:
Clicking: Open Existing Database, takes you to the directory where the un-encrypted file is stored. From here you can select the file and open it without a password.
Have I missed something in setting up the encryption?
Should the *.mmb file be deleted after setting up *emb file and password?

Re: Encryption of Database
Yes, in your pc mmb and embrace are equal because you haven't inserted any new transaction in one of them. Then you will see the difference because they are two completely different databases without any relationship

Thank you for the reply. Is it OK to delete the *.mmb database as there is no relationship?GabrieleV wrote:Yes, in your pc mmb and embrace are equal because you haven't inserted any new transaction in one of them. Re: Encryption of Database
Hi Thank you. Deletion of the *.mmb file does resolve the issue. Maybe you need to add this to your help page. Good software for my purposes to date.
