Problem Editing a Split in a Transferred Transaction.

V1.70: Can’t Edit Splits in a Transferred Transaction.

It seems that it is not possible to amend splits in a Transferred Transaction.
I am uncertain if this is a change in v1.70, or intended. (The Splits “+” button is greyed-out.)
If intended, is there a reason why this would be?
If not, please take this post as a fault report.

You cannot, and have never been able to, have split Transfers.
