Multiple versions of the database being generated in OneDrive
All of a sudden, I've got loads of date and time stamped copies of the database in OneDrive.

This is still happening - see the screenshot attached. I can't be the only one experiencing this, surely.

I think I might have solved this by forcing a stop on the OneDrive app then clearing the cache and storage. Fingers crossed.

It didn't stop it so I've moved the database into my Google Drive and all seems well now.

Re: Multiple versions of the database being generated in OneDrive
I have seen this behavior with other files. When you edit the file on two local OneDrive and the software isn't saving it Realtime, after closing the software and than saving the data, there are two who tried to update the online file and OneDrive gets a sync conflict. Then these extra versions are create to being able to finish the sync.
Simultaneously use is possible when the software uses auto saving each time the data is changed and checks the online data each time you jump to an other part of the data. MS office 365 works that way. When software holding the data occupied until it's closed, you get those multiple versions at simultaneously use.

HI @MdW
your observation and statements are 100% correct, the data is synced periodically based on your configuration.
here you go how it works with your own cloud provider
