CategoriesStatLast12Months Report – No Graph, Missing Headers, and Translations Not Applied

Hello,

I'm using Money Manager EX, and I'm experiencing issues with the CategoriesStatLast12Months report. I have no programming knowledge, so I don't know how to fix this. Here are the main problems I'm facing:

1. The graph does not appear - The report should display a bar chart, but the area remains blank (see attached image).

2. Month headers are completely missing - The report does not show month names at all (January, February, etc.), making it impossible to understand the time periods of the data.

3. Translations are not applied - In the template.htt file, I can see that the Italian language is present, but the report is displayed only in English, ignoring the translation.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, a configuration issue, or something else. Could someone help me understand how to fix it?

Are you using the desktop or the portable MMEX version?
Have you tried downloading and installing MMEX again?
Which theme are you using?
By the way: I have changed the language of my MMEX to it-IT Italian and have not experienced any problems.

Thanks for your reply! Here are the details you asked for:

• I'm using the desktop version of MMEX (not the portable one).

• I have not tried reinstalling MMEX yet, but I have experienced this issue in previous versions as well. I can try using the portable version to see if the problem persists.

• I'm using the "yellow_blue" theme. However, I have also tried switching to other themes, but the issue remains the same.

• Regarding the language issue: It’s strange because my MMEX is set to Italian (it-IT), and in the template.htt file, I can see that the Italian translations are present, but they are not applied in the report.

I will test with the portable version and let you know if the issue persists.

Do you have any other suggestions on how to fix these issues?

I have read the link you provided.

First of all, the negative values in red are correctly displayed for me. However, what is not displayed is the graph (along with the various Italian translations).

I changed the theme, resetting it to the light theme. I also tested different styles and themes, but nothing changed.

I installed MMEX on another PC and encountered the same issue.

I also believe that this is not the only report where graphs are not working.
Could it somehow be related to my database?

P.S. I wanted to try installing the portable version, but for some mysterious reason, after downloading the ZIP file on four different PCs, there is no .exe file inside.

Do you have a virus scanner installed or are you using MS Defender?
I suspect that the virus scanner is sending the .exe file in the .zip to quarantine.
What does the virus scanner log say?

I have disabled both MS Defender and AVAST. However, even when they were active, I had already added exceptions for both antivirus programs.

I do not receive any warnings from either of them, and I have also checked the Quarantine section, but there are no files there.

I do not have any other antivirus installed on my PC.

I really don’t know what else to do… The fact is that this happens on four different PCs.

Any other suggestions?

What I don't understand is that there should be no mmex.exe in the bin directory in the .zip.

After countless attempts, I finally found the mmex.exe file.

However, the problem (or rather, multiple problems) with the report still persist.

At this point, I strongly believe that the issue might be related to my database (.mmb).

Would it be useful if I shared my database with you?
I completely trust you, as you have already helped me solve issues in the past.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to verify if the database is causing the problem?

You can send me the .mmb and the .db3 database to info()mmex.ch and I'll have a look at it tomorrow.

You have loaded / used the evaluations from the General Report Manager due to the lack of the Evaluations categories in the menu. Unfortunately, these GRM files are not up to date. I have entered the following bug reports.

Could you please clarify what this means? I’m not sure what I did or how I used the GRM.

Even after creating the report from scratch and adding all the necessary files, the error persists: the graph is still not displayed. However, I notice that at least the months and years are appearing correctly, so there has been some improvement.

Allow me to thank you for all the implementations made in MMEX, especially for the Android and iOS apps, and for considering updating the reports. I truly appreciate your effort.

By starting from scratch I mean that I deleted almost all the reports I had, downloaded the ones from the link you posted, imported the Zip file, but the result is always the same. It does not display the graph.
I also tried changing the theme, but nothing happens.
Could it be due to my database?
