MMEX won't install?

hi there,
I have tried to install MMEX from the .dmg file. i click on it, and the installer window opens, so i drag the icon the my applications folder and i end up with an alias only. if i move the .dmg and disk image to the trash i can't open MMEX. i obviously don't want them to remain on my desktop.

I hesitate to ask, is your Operating system MAC OS?

no, i got a reply in terminal "no such file" because there is nothing in the applications folder except the alias.

nope. i even tried 1.6 Alpha. does not install, only produces an alias linked to the .dmg

What happens if you hold the modifier key(Command) while doing the drag? Could also try command-c / command-v to copy.
It should not be required as it should perform a copy as the DMG and /Applications will be on seperate volumes.
Does the same behavior occur with other DMGs?
