Asset category problem

I am having a problem with the Asset category. A while back, I created two Assets. They were CDs. I created an entry named CD's. I entered each separately in that Asset category. Now, neither shows up under that name. When I open the category it is blank. No entries. I clicked on all transactions. At the same time the proper balance shows for the category on the Dashboard. The total of the two CDs is correct. Am I missing something or is there a problem with the program?
