ok, i'm using 1.6.3, this morning i started the app and it said the database could not be found in the expected location. i have not changed anything, and the database folder is still in the correct location, and it looks like the app is pointing to that location, but the latest back up is not there, or at least i'm not seeing it. i'm also confused about the names of the files V15 update? i've tried to point it to the latest backup but i have no idea what i'm looking for. the latest backup that i think i see is Jan 31, and that is NOT the last time i used the app. i've used it several times every month since then. i've done a search on my machine for .MMB files and the only location to come up is the expected folder.any thoughts would be very welcome. see attachment

Could you post a screenshot showing the date/times on the files please so we can see which has most recently been used. I suspect that this will not be your 'Pender Highlanders.mmb' database.

Once we can see the dates, I'll explain the various files and help unravel what has happened.

Please don't be tempted to randomly open the files with MMEX because you will change the dates and that will make sorting this out more difficult.

this is all there is to see. i've expanded it and that looks the same as the last screen schot.

You are just showing a screenshot from the file open screen. Can you not set it to show dates as well?

Alternatively use the Finder to locate the files and display the dates there: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201732

Need to see the Date Modified for the files not the Date Created.

Please use the Finder:

Would love to help, but when I look at the screenshots:
a) probably these are not all .mmb files.
b) the files are not sorted by modification date
