Apologies for another newbie question.
I am using Version 1.8.1 64- bit on Win 11.
Is there a way to manually change balance figures? I am manually adding dividends to a checking account and the balance doesn't change.
(I am reconciled to not doing transfers between accounts because the balance doesn't change and, in order to keep tabs on actual balances - which is essential for me - I'm willing to withdraw, pay to self and then deposit, clunky though it is. But I can see no way round the problem of the balance not changing when I add dividend payment entries).
I will be grateful for any help I can get! Thanks.

Could you give us a screenshot ? Just hide confidential information.
You want to speak about Initial Balance ? Or the general balance of an account, when you add a transaction ?

So the problem is that the balance doesn't change when deposits are recorded. I have just done a withdrawal and that DID change the balance.
