Non display of transactions in sub categories

I am using 1.9.0
Just added some sub categories under a main category that I now wish to subdivide retrospectively. I have edited all of the main entries to use the sub categories and the totals remain correct. If I use Transaction Report with a filter to select a date range and set Category then I get a correct listing which shows the sub categories for each entry.
However, when I use the Report "Where the money goes" and expand the main category, the totals for each sub category are correct. But when I click on a sub name the listing is incorrect. Initially the list was empty but I now find that it contains the entries for the last sub I clicked on. However if I do this with sub categories that were in place before the last upgrade, they display correctly.
Any idea what I may have done wrong?
