How to register loan kind investments?

Hi all,
I'd like to know how's the correct way to register a loan that is genereting interests.
I'm the investor, and I lent 1000 to someone else. This will give me back 1100 after a certain amount of time.
Which account type should I use? Do I have to set up also a specific category and payee for this kind of operations?
