Save database location issues

I created database on 9/27 for the first time. Saved it as emb file. Can make entries all good.
THen suddently on 10/14 it started showing errors like cannot set working directory. etc.
I went to save folder abc/xyz to take backup but the file was not there.
I went back to moneymanager and it shows the same folder abc/xyz for all the databases but it never shows up in explorer.
Is moneymanager saving in random places and not showing correct location?
I restarted the pc but again same issue. When i went to open database it did not show the latest version but 9/27 , opened that freaked up and magically after some time, latest version loaded automatically.
