How do I exclude specific accounts from the Reports

How can I exclude specific accounts from participating in the various Reports?

If it's the standard reports, then I believe it's only the one with specific accounts in the title that allows filtering of the accounts.

I think it's possible to set temporary the account status as 'Closed'.
