Dashboard and Reports Black Screen

Post by moneytrack »

I'm new to MMEX, looks like a great application. In my time testing the system there are several screens (or tabs) that only show a black screen. This happens on the Dashboard and Report screens. I've checks the themes but not sure what next.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the response! I'm using Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon, v6.4.6

I've attached screenshots of the Dashboard and Reports tab (hopefully, you can see them). I can see the menu along the top and the tabs on the left, but when I select Reports the page opens but is just black. I thought this was do to no transactions, which I've add several bank accounts and transactions.

These tabs work fine: All Transactions, Scheduled Transactions, Bank Accounts, Cash Accounts, Assets
Black Screen: Budget Planner, all Reports, and General Report Manager

Not sure if it's wayland or X11
It's the .deb package

I was playing around more, initially it seemed that the graphics card might have been causing a problem. Seemed to be fine on Intel(Power Saving Mode), but no NVIDIA On-Demand. I know this does sound weird since half the program was working. I've switched to NVIDIA Performance mode and seems to be working fine.

Keep you posted if it changes. Thanks again!

Check if you are using Wayland or X11:
$ echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
In my case the answer is:
x11
which means I am using X11 and not Wayland.

Nothing sounds weird in conncetion with nVidia. :-)

My system crashed resulting in having to reinstall the environment. Got everything installed again. Changing the graphics card option doesn't seem to work currently. But I would say versus black screens that are blank grey.

To answer you question, after running, echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE the .deb package is X11.

That is a good thread to read. I changed the NVIDIA driver from 570 to 550, which appears to be working.

Thanks, and I'll try to update.

Hi, a while ago I sat down on an old (2011) MBP laptop with Linux Mint.
I had exactly the same problem with the MMEX application.
Finding that the problem was the Nvidia card drivers, I started testing the drivers to find the right ones for my laptop.
In the end, the best choice for me was the 470 drivers (there are 525, 535, 550, 570). I guess the 470 suited me better since my laptop is almost 15 years old.
Working well now...
