[SOLVED] import Categories

Post by toki »

Hi, I'm new here and I want to start using the app on Windows.

how can import a list of categories?

I currently have a list of categories in Excel and I'd like to import it into mmex so I don't have to type them all in manually.

Thank you very much

I don't know of any way to import categories (unless you have a very good understanding of SQLite)

It was much easier than I thought.

I created an Excel file with all my categories and the following columns: Date, Recipient, Category, and Amount. I saved this file as a CSV.

In MMEX, I imported it and used the MMEX field mapping tool to assign each column to the corresponding data.

The program imported the file and added all the new categories to your master list.
Then I deleted the imported transactions, and the categories remained saved.

(Sorry, I’m using a translator to write this, in case anything isn’t clear.)
