Font Size Issue

Post by chrishn462 »

Hi

I seem to have some troubling issues with font sizes. The font size is set to "Normal" in MMEX but some of the fonts are truncated. Also whenever I move or resize any of the columns, it lags for few more seconds. Also when I hover my mouse over that row, the truncated fonts disappear and when I move the mouse away, the fonts are truncated again.

When I set the font size to "Enlarged", the issues disappeared and the movement and the resizing of the columns are very fast and instant.

Also the last column, all rows contain "0." which is very strange and I have never seen it before.

I attach a screenshot with some redact for privacy.

Thanks

If you let us know which operating system, MMEX version, and settings you're using when the problem occurs, we should be able to reproduce it.

Please send your mmexini.db3 file to info@mmex.ch, and I'll try to look into it.
The mmexini.db3 file contains the settings, unless you've entered any sensitive information in your accounts.

Hi Chris,
Thanks so much for the .db3 file.
I took a look at the settings, but they don't match those in the screenshot below.
Everything looks correct on my end, though I have a different screen resolution.

I would delete the mmexini.db3 file
MMEX will automatically create a new default one.
After that, you'll need to adjust the settings (currency ...) again.

Hi Renato

I tried your solution but it is the same problem/issue.

I was sure that my own custom desktop system tweaking (icon spacing, icon resizing, font resizing etc) that had caused the problems in MMEX so I had to use Winaero Tweaker to revert all the Windows Desktop Appearance settings to default and presto! It is now normal and fast too.

So it was the desktop system font settings had caused problems in MMEX. I would leave the desktop appearance alone! Although I find and believe that the MMEX font size should be independent from desktop system fonts as anyone can tweak the desktop system appearance without realizing that it would cause MMEX to malfunction.

Sorry for all the trouble.

Cheers
@chris_aerospace.

Thanks for the feedback.
Windows settings always override program settings.

If you change the scaling in Windows—for example, because the display or text is too small on a 4K screen—many programs (usually older ones) may experience display issues.

However, there are programs that do not respond to Windows settings; in those cases, there are settings in the program’s properties, such as under “Compatibility” or “Change high DPI settings.”

This illustrates just how difficult troubleshooting can be.
