One of my stock account not showing

Post by sajidmansoori »

While doing stock transaction I accidentally renamed stock symbol for ‘ICICI Large Cap – D’ then after it got disappeared. While clicking on the investment account it is showing in the stock list but not in the side bar list. Even the transaction entered for Jun-26 is not showing in cash ledger.

Please help.

There's a new version of MMEX that will be released soon; you can download it here—maybe that will solve your problem.

I have the same problem, I think it's caused by an edit you did on your stock, it happens everytime you change the name of the stock, mmex doen't match anymore the name of the stock with the name of the account, if you set the old name to the stock the account appear again, the problem is remember the old name

To fix I opened the db file with DBeaver, and take the OLD account name from the table

Code: Select all

ACCOUNTLIST_V1
in the column:

Code: Select all

ACCOUNTNAME
in MMEX double click on the stock without the account associated and put the name taken from the Db in the field "Company Name".

With this stock v2 I didn't get how to migrate from the old management to the new one, the docs says only:
For users migrating to Stock v2, transactions within Share Accounts can be updated by modifying their Transaction Account ID to the corresponding Investment Account ID.

Hi @Galdor3

for the migration,
1. go to the investment account (v2 will show held stocks in the right)
2. then click into each share account to see a bunch of transaction in the right.
3. then click into each transaction to update its account to the investment account mentioned in #1
4. then you can see the detailed transaction in Cache Ledger.

the main hierarchy change from v1 -> v2 is sort of like the following.

Code: Select all

├── v1 investment account (just a placeholder and hold nothing)
│   ├── share account1 (stock1) to hold both balance and trade
│   └── share account2 (stock2) to hold both balance and trade
└── v2 investment account (to hold all stocks balances, e.g. NASDAQ)
└── cash ledger (to hold trade)

hence, starting a new investment account would be a good start instead of migration.

details would be found An example for Stocks on MMEX (v2)
