Duplicating Stock Transactions

Post by paulmmex »

I'm just getting started moving my financial info from kmymoney to MMEX. I am quite pleased with MMEX. Pretty easy to use and I like how the information is presented.

I'm inputting transactions into some investment accounts and am finding it tedious to enter each dividend transaction. Is there a way to duplicate a stock dividend transaction? Or, set up a recurring transaction in scheduled transactions?

Thanks!

hi @paulmmex

I think repeated transactions to the investment account for dividends is reasonable.

Did you run into any issue ? If yes, can you try the latest development version?

If the amounts and dates are fixed, you can set them up as Scheduled Transactions. If the amounts are variable, like cashbacks on purchase volume, I set them up with value 0.01 and adjust against the statement later. That way, even though it is partly manual, you do get the reminder that there is a transaction to be accounted for.
