Column bug after upgrading to 1.8.1

Post by teal »

Hi,

I just upgraded to 1.8.1 and my credit account displays fine, but every other account has the balance duplicated in the 'Notes' column, and the notes are being displayed in the 'Last Updated' column.

This isn't the end of the world as I didn't really need the last updated column anyway, but it's odd so I wanted to ask about it.

I've tried resetting the columns, adding/removing, etc etc the usual fiddling an IT person would do.

Wondering if it's just a display bug or if it is a database issue - is there any way I can confirm that easily?

Thanks.

I'm experiencing similar on Windows 11. Columns in one checking account are all fine, the rest are showing incorrect content, that is content from another column.

I also experienced the 'Incorrect password' error when trying to open the database but this was fixed as suggested in another forum post - save the .emb file as .mmb in V 1.8.0, open it in V 1.8.1 and then save as .emb again.

Thanks, good to hear I'm not the only one. I'm also on Windows 11.

If the problem cannot be solved by manually rearranging the columns, you could rename/delete the .db3 database (it will be automatically recreated) and manually correct the settings (language, currency, etc).

Sorry I can't find this file. I googled it and it sounds like it's not used for the installable version? I'm assuming the settings are in the registry instead?

Thanks very much. Unfortunately, deleting and regenerating the .db3 file still didn't resolve the problem.

I also completely uninstalled and reinstalled 1.8.1 and it's still broken.

I just went back to 1.8.0 and it's fixed, so this seems to be a 1.8.1 bug. I'll stay on 1.8.0 until a fix comes in a future version I guess!

Would it be possible to send us the .mmb to mmexregister@gmail.com so that we can check the problem.
Of course we guarantee absolute confidentiality.

Happy to help, I've sent the mmb file as requested. Please delete it after you no longer require for troubleshooting and let me know if I can help in any other way.

I'm messing around trying to figure it out and went back to v1.8.1 and found that clicking on 'deleted transactions' crashes v1.8.1 - I have to roll back to v.1.8.0 to view deleted items. I thought maybe some bad data was causing the issue so deleted all the deleted transactions in v1.8.0 and went back to v1.8.1 - deleted a NEW transaction and tried to load 'deleted transactions', and it still crashes.

Anyway, might be a totally separate thing but wanted to mention it just in case.
