Hi Folks,
After 30 years on Windows, I removed it from my computer and have gone to Linux.
With MMEX on Windows, I could add a new note to any or all transactions.
With MMEX on Linux, I only have a choice of a few old notes that I can reuse.
What do I need to do to make notes work with MMEX on Linux?
And much appreciation for MMEX!
Thanks and good health, Weogo

Hi Alfred,
I'm using Zorin 17.2, and MMEX was installed from the Software tab in Zorin.
Thanks and good health, Weogo

Re: new Note
Which version of MMEX ?
I've never installed Zorin OS. But from what I've seen on their site, this OS is based on a Debian. And the package system is in .deb format.
I've been using Debian for a long time. MMEX is installed via flatpak.
There is no deb package for Debian.
Have you bought a PC with Zorin OS pre-installed ?
Am I suddenly thinking about it?
What was the Windows version of MMEX? And under Linux?

Re: new Note
Hi Alfred,
The MMEX version on Windows was 1.8.1, as is the version on Zorin.
The laptop is a Lenovo T490S from 2020. It came with Windows-10 on it, and
this is what was still running when I wiped the hard drive clean.
I bought and installed Zorin 17.2 Pro myself.
Then I installed MMEX version 1.8.1 from the Zorin Software page.
I'm new to Linux but have been using computers for about 30 years.
Thanks and good health, Weogo

Re: new Note
Hi,
An update:
In Linux I installed Windows10 as a virtual machine, and then installed MMEX in Windows10 and
I can again write an unlimited number of notes.
I'll stick with this work-around until something changes and MMEX works properly in Linux.
Thanks and good health, Weogo

Anyway: I compiled a version mmex_1.9.0-Ubuntu.24.04.noble_amd64.deb and since Zorin 17.2 is based on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS maybe you can try this version.
You will have to install it manually.
Just tell me if it is working.
