Hi everyone,
I’d like to share an issue I’m experiencing with Budget Monitoring (current month & last month) reports and check whether other users have run into something similar.
In short: the reports work correctly in SQL Test mode and return valid data, but when they are selected in the Budget Monitoring screen, the charts remain completely empty, with no error or warning message.
In my case:
- a monthly budget exists for the current month and is correctly named (YYYY-MM)
- the budget is populated with multiple categories, both monthly and annual
- actual transactions exist for the same month
- the custom Budget Monitoring reports return valid values in Test mode (ActualAmount, BudgetAmount, Rate, etc.)
- Deposit and Withdrawal categories are correctly separated
Despite all this, nothing is rendered in the Budget Monitoring panel.
From what I can see, the dataset itself is technically valid but fairly complex: many categories and subcategories, several rows with budget but no actuals, others with actuals but no budget, and a wide range of Rate values. This suggests that the issue is not with the data itself, but that the Budget Monitoring visualization silently fails when handling this kind of dataset.
I’ve opened a GitHub issue with full technical details, screenshots, and test results here:
https://github.com/moneymanagerex/gener ... /issues/98
I’m also posting this on the forum because this might not be an isolated case, and because at the moment there is no UI feedback explaining why nothing is displayed.
If anyone has experienced something similar or managed to get Budget Monitoring working correctly in a comparable setup, I’d really appreciate any feedback.
Thanks!
