I'm afraid to upgrade MMEX because...

Post by Tevqeby »

Last time I upgraded to 1.6.4, the upgrade created all these unwanted bak files in the directory where I keep my Mmex data. And it still seems to do this every time I save the emb or mmb data file.

Accounts.emb_upgrade_v8_2025-03-28.bak
Accounts.emb_upgrade_v9_2025-03-28.bak
Accounts.emb_upgrade_v10_2025-03-28.bak
Accounts.emb_upgrade_v11_2025-03-28.bak
Accounts.emb_upgrade_v12_2025-03-28.bak
Accounts.emb_upgrade_v13_2025-03-28.bak
Accounts.emb_upgrade_v14_2025-03-28.bak
Accounts.emb_upgrade_v15_2025-03-28.bak
Accounts.emb_upgrade_v16_2025-03-28.bak
Accounts.emb_upgrade_v17_2025-03-28.bak

I’ve deleted most of these bak files, because they are hogging my hard drive space, and I always make backups of my data on external drives anyway. Is there any way to stop the program from doing this if I upgrade again? Thanks for any assistance.

The files listed here are created when changes are made to the database structure. they serve as security in the event of any problems. As you have changed from a very old MMEX version to the latest version, there are several such files.

You can adjust the number of backup files yourself in the settings.
